Town of Stark, Vernon County, WI

July 25, 2007

 

Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:00 p.m.  All elected officials present. Supervisors Myron Richard and Virgil Thomas, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie Potter.

 

Proper posting of meeting verified.

 

Approval of minutes of June, 2007 meeting approved on a motion by Thomas, seconded by Richard.  All yes.

 

Motion by Richard, seconded by Thomas to approve financial report and pay all bills except to Kraemers and Scott Construction and pay those when money is available in August.

 

8 guests present and included Earl Nelson, Rich and Lois Milonczyk, Koletta Steinmetz, Tom McGee, Andy Segal, Linda Thomas, and Christel Stueckrad.

 

Citizen discussion period: Assessor Cecil Chapin stated he had made a deal with county treasurer regarding tax bill sent to Stark for Beres property. Board said they would not pay anything.  Koletta stated someone has been throwing garbage away and not recycling and she has name.  Clerk to send letter to individual.

 

Informational reports: Sealcoating done on Lowery, Maple Ridge and Munson Road. Amy Vesbach has completed dog count. Chairman and clerk set for two training sessions. 3 tires and wheels sold to Steve Munson for $60. Unemployment being paid to former recycling worker.  Chairman reported radio grants would probably be approved for two radios. 3 culverts needed on W. Maple Ridge road and will be replaced this fall.

 

Old business: Nothing new on comprehensive planning grant; state budget bill contains provision to assess Kickapoo Reserve buildings.

 

New business: 4 bids for 1990 truck. $3,501 from B & W, $3,150 from C & H, $2,635 from K & M, and $2,899 from Munson.  Motion by Richard, 2nd by Thomas to sell truck to B & W. All yes.

 

Final plans made for town picnic, Lois Milonczyk is handling it.

 

Action on planning commission and appointment of members tabled until next meeting.

 

Motion by Thomas, seconded by Steinmetz to increase town business mileage rate from 30 cents a mile to 45 cents.  Motion passed 2-0, Richard did not vote.

 

Chairman will contact zoning board to start meeting about revisions in September.

 

No status report on Ho-Chunk payment.

 

Motion by Thomas, 2nd by Richard to adjourn.  Adjourned 7:50 p.m.
