TOWN OF STARK, VERNON COUNTY, WI

Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:00 p.m. All other elected officials present except treasurer Bonnie Potter and they were Virgil Thomas Jr. and Myron Richard of the town board, and clerk Lonnie Muller.

 

 

 

There were no guests.

 

 Verification of proper posting of meeting was confirmed.

 

Motion by Thomas seconded by Richard to approve last month's minutes. All yes.

 

 

 

Motion by Thomas, seconded by Richard to approve financial report and payment of bills except paying Kraemers and Scott Construction in full when available.  All yes.

 

 

 

Citizen discussion period: None

 

 

 

Information report: One new building permit issued. Chairman stated increased PILT from the Kickapoo Reserve would be $66,000 this year and $78,000 next year. Chairman reported on radio grant, grant pays 75% and new radios would go to Haugh's truck and in grader. Possible for one more radio and if so it would go into backhoe. Clerk reported on Managed Forest Land additions.

 

 

 

Old business:

 

a. Comprehensive planning update: survey being worked on and will go to property owners in January

 

b. FEMA update: maybe get paid in Jan for flood damage, letter sent by Stark to county requesting reconsideration of action on Jersey Valley lake which county board had taken.

 

c. Tax issue w/county: letter sent by chairman to county corporation counsel Greg Lunde asking for meeting.

 

d. Ho-Chunk: Chairman met with Roberta Greendeer who will look into problem of town not receiving money.

 

 

 

New business:

 

a. New policy on fire signs: Motion by Thomas, 2nd by Richard to have property ownerÕs pay for fire signs, including any additional signs needed. Also, all new signs will now be ordered through the county sheriff department.

 

b. Advertising for zoning administrator: Jeff Everson is resigning at end of December., put notice in paper for replacement.
