TOWN OF STARK, VERNON COUNTY, WI

 

WEDNESDAY, 24 January 2007

Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:28 p.m. All elected officials present. Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard of the town board, treasurer Bonnie Potter, and clerk Lonnie Muller.

 

 

 

Several town residents were in attendance that had remained from the earlier caucus..

 

 

 

Verification of proper posting of meeting was confirmed.

 

 

 

Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve last month's minutes. All yes.

 

 

 

Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve financial report and payment of bills. All yes.

 

 

 

Citizen discussion period: Tom McGee inquired about a road sign at Munson and Maple Ridge Road. Chairman Steinmetz reported it had been ordered. Koletta Steinmetz reported she had sent an individual home from the recycling center that had brought in a pickup full of items that was not recycled properly and that she wouldn't allow him to place the material in a dumpster. Linda Thomas suggested that a sheet be handed out to persons receiving a building permit letting them know about the recycling program. Cristal Stueckrad suggested a sign on the dumpster regarding recycling.

 

 

 

Informational reports: No update on status when new truck will be ready. There will be a Wisconsin Towns Ass'n meeting near La Crosse on Feb. 23rd and all elected officials plan on going. Myron will drive and leave at 7:30 p.m.

 

 

 

Old Business:

 

a. Nothing much new on comprehensive planning other than the fact the grant has been sent in. The Nuzum grant, if approved, would pay for a map maker for two years.

 

b. County request to pay tax - No subsequent communication.

 

c. Update on TRIP - Virgil Hanold had called chairman and stated the town had not used all the TRIP money from Wolfe and Nelson Road project, and that we could use it on another project, providing it is done by July 1st. There is $3,876.77 available so road work must be twice that amount.

 

 

 

New business

 

a. All plan to attend fire department dinner

 

b. Steinmetz will check about CPR and 1st aid training for employees

 

c. No discussion on wage package and benefits for employees, other than to state there was no extra money in budget for overtime pay.

 

 

 

Motion to adjourn meeting by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard. Meeting adjourned 8 p.m.
