MINUTES OF MEETING APRIL 16, 2008

 

 

Stark monthly meeting, 16 April 2006 at the Stark town hall

71 degrees outside.

 

7 visitors: Linda Thomas, Lois Milonczyk, Rich Milonczyk, Robin Davis from Kraemers, Steve Jensen, Jeff Everson, and Kevin Schmitz from Scott Construction.

 

Present: Chairman Brad Steinmetz, supervisors Myron Richard and Virgil Thomas Jr. and clerk Lonnie Muller. Treasurer Bonnie Potter absent.

 

Pledge of Allegiance by all.

 

Opened 7 p.m. by chairman Brad Steinmetz

 

Verification of meeting approved with proper posting verification.

 

Change in March minutes, correction on name for Myron in paragraph of  board members present.

 

Approval of previous minutes, with correction, with motion by Richard, second by Thomas.  All yes.

 

Financial report given. Motion by Thomas, seconded by Richard. All yes.

 

Citizen discussion period: Steve Jensen asked about having Stark haul dirt fill for proposed school softball field. Mike Anderson will do the dozing work for free. He would like to get the fill in so that it can be seeded this spring. Village has agreed to provide equipment and men said Jensen.  Fill available locally and some at Rockton.  Jeff Everson felt it was a good idea to have the town donate. Chairman said willing to help, and any donation for fuel it will be appreciated.

 

Informational reports:

Mathy asphalt plant setting up in town: Chairman received letter from Mathy but Robin Davis knew nothing about it.

WTA district meeting: Board and clerk attended and no certified for Board of Review

Annual meeting information: Recycling center open on Wednesdays starting at 9 a.m. and closing at noon on 1^st of May.

Reminder of spring cleanup days on April 26^th.

 

Old business:

Update on comprehensive planning: Grant denied from DOA. Meeting next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Reserve. Town meeting on May 6^th at 7:30 p.m.

Update on PLT from the Ho-Chunk nation: No update. Marcy West had talked to
Roberta from Ho-Chunk and said their lawyers looking at it.

 

New business:

Bids opened for gravel and sealcoating

Kraemers for gravel: crushed rock, ¾ inch and 3-inch breaker run.  $6.44 a yard delivered. Motion by Thomas, 2^nd by Richard to accept bid. All yes.

Scott Construction for sealcoating: single seal of hard service: $2.55 gallon, chips $15.50 a ton. 20 feet wide: $12,570 approximate cost per mile. Thomas motion to approve,
Richard 2^nd to approve bid. All yes.

 

Dates for road inspection: Tuesday, April 29^th starting at 9 a.m.

 

Date for fence inspection for LaVerne Barclay: Tuesday, April 29^th starting at 1 p.m.

 

Future agenda items: None brought up.
