Town of Stark meeting.  Started 7:04 p.m.

 

All elected officials present. Chairman Brad Steinmetz, supervisor Myron Richard and Virgil Thomas, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie Potter.

 

Guests, Milonzcyk,  Linda Thomas, Rick and Zell Spry, Tom McGee, Brian Copper.

 

Motion to approve minutes from last meeting by Thomas, 2nd by Richard, all yes.

 

Motion to approve financial report by Richard, 2nd by Thomas except for paying Scotts. All yes.

 

Citizen discussion period: Rick Spry inquired about opening the recycling center at 8 a.m.   Will check with Koletta if she desires to change hours.

 

Informational reports: Clerk spoke of meeting with health insurance agent regarding Jim Haugh retiring; Steinmetz said road verification report has been complete; Steinmetz may be meeting with Ho-Chunk legislative committee to talk about PILT payment to Stark; Steinmetz reported that Department of Revenue has looked at Visitors Center building and estimated that Stark will gain around $9,000 a year from added tax revenue.

 

6. Informational reports: Steinmetz passed out handouts concerning possible comprehensive planning and zoning changes and explained the various proposals. Another meeting on Tuesday, Oct 7th at 7:30 p.m. at Visitors Center.  Richard has made pattern for plastic wear plates for grader and will be around $100 each.

 

7. Old business: Flood damage updates and FEMA results:  FEMA has not been around, only 1 person for two counties is handling everything, Steinmetz mentioned the river cleanup near Hanson farm and that we can get up to $10,000 to do the work and he has met with HansonŐs concerning access and also options are being looked at for equipment needs; town hall status: town board met earlier at the La Farge village hall about possible town hall buyout, grants, or using other financial sources, need to turn off utilities for town hall. Successful picnic with 75 attendees: No money yet from Parhamovich for zoning.

 

8. New business: Fall cleanup is Saturday, Oct. 18th from 8 to 12 p.m.  ½ price rates again, Virgil Thomas motion for reduced rates, Steinmetz 2nd, all yes. Discussion on Certified Mapping ordinance.
