Minutes of monthly meeting

July 21, 2004

 

Meeting opened at 7 p.m. by board chairman Brad Steinmetz.  All elected officials present.  Board members Dwain Jeffers, Myron Richard, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie Potter.

 

Guests were Rich and Lois Milonczyk, Don Barr, Koletta Steinmetz, Gail Muller and June Hargraves.

 

Posting verified.

 

Approval of previous minutes with motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers with the exception of two minor typo errors. All yes.

 

Approval of financial report and payment of bills but withhold payment to Scott Construction for seal coating while awaiting FEMA payment. Motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers. All yes.

 

Citizen discussion period:  Don Barr mentioned he had removed 3 trees out of Bickel Road recently.  Chairman will have patrolmen check the area for removal of other dead trees.  Koletta mentioned that Workmen’s Comp had not yet paid her medical bill when she hurt her thumb at the recycling center. Clerk will check with insurance company.

 

The letter from the Vernon County Humane Society requesting money was tabled.

 

Informational reports: Clerk made a reminder of the Towns Association picnic in Hillsboro on July 28th.  Steinmetz stated that Kraemers had donated 25 yards of gravel for the Star Valley Memorial but another 10 to 12 yards was needed and he said the town had donated that amount out of their stockpile.

 

Old business:

  1. Town picnic update – committee has met and everything set for August 12th
  2. Road damage claims – clerk has most of bills in and will be working with FEMA shortly
  3. Web page update – Is on line but clerk having problems getting items uploaded.  Will be working further with Al Buss who was the designer.

 

New business:

  1. Action on zoning ordinance modifications. Steinmetz would like to see all changes done by zoning committee by January 1st, 2005 and ready to be adopted. Motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers to start paying $20 a meeting per diem to zoning committee members effectively immediately.  All yes.
  2. Future planning – nothing new
  3. Tall grass in parking lot – Freddie Nelson has been contacted and he said it would be taken care and Steinmetz will also talk with patrolmen.  Several adjoining landowners have complained of the grass and weeds.

d. Material washing from Mick shale pit on Jug Creek Road into roadway –chairman will talk with David Mick concerning the problem.

 

Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to adjourn.  Adjourned 8:00 p.m.
