STARK TOWNSHIP, VERNON COUNTY, WISCONSIN

 

Minutes of meeting held on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Stark town hall

 

 

 

Meeting called to order at 7 p.m. by chairman Brad Steinmetz.

 

 

 

In attendance were chairman Brad Steinmetz, board members Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie Potter arrived later.

 

 

 

Guests present were Ron Johnson, Brian Turner, Christal and Fritz Steuckrud, Virgil and Linda Thomas, Jeff Wendorf, Dan Biermeir, Robin Davis, Mitch Williams, Don Barr, Lois and Rich Milonzcyk, Bob Stirn and Jim Parr.

 

 

 

Motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers to go into new business immediately. All yes.

 

 

 

New business:

 

a.         Motion by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard, to accept bid from Kraemers for gravel at $5.65 per yard either spread or stockpiled. All yes. Motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers to accept bid from Scott Construction for sealcoating. Price would be $8,634 per mile for hard surface, $13,748 per mile for single coat and $19,025.50 for double seal. All yes. There were no other bids.

 

 

 

b.        Jeff Wendorf and Mitch Williams presented information about the Kickapoo school referendum.

 

 

 

c.         Bob Stirn and Jim Parr presented information about the La Farge school referendum.

 

 

 

d.         Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to submit Ron Johnson’s name to the governor’s office for a position on the Kickapoo Reserve Board. All yes. Motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers to submit Brian Turner’s name to the governor’s office for a position on the Kickapoo Reserve Board. All yes.

 

 

 

e.         Spring clean up day set for April 30th or May 7th, depending on what day is  

 

available from the county landfill.

 

 

 

f.          Koletta Steinmetz said all fluorescent bulbs need recycled but incandescent bulbs can be thrown into dumpster.

 

 

 

g.         Annual meeting will be held April 12, 2005 at 7 p.m.

 

 

 

h.         Annual road inspection is set for April 22, 2005 at 8 p.m.

 

 

 

Verification of meeting was ok.

 

 

 

Approval of previous minutes approved with motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers, all yes.

 

 

 

Financial report and payment of bills approved with motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard. All yes.

 

 

 

Citizen discussion period: Don Barr wondered how many buildings are allowed on a piece of property, giving an example.

 

 

 

Board approved an overweight permit for Kouba Well drilling with a motion by Richard and a second by Jeffers, all yes.

 

 

 

Jeffers will order new tires for grader.

 

 

 

The lease of the Corps building will be placed on agenda for next meeting. Kickapoo Reserve is suggesting a $400 rental fee per month. Lease expires in May 2005.

 

 

 

Employee handbook is completed.

 

 

 

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. on motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers.
