TOWN OF STARK

September 21, 2005, 7 p.m. Stark Town Hall

 

  Chairman Brad Steinmetz opened meeting at 7 p.m.  Present were supervisors Dwain Jeffers, Myron Richard and clerk Lonnie Muller.  Guests present were Rich and Lois Milonzcyk, Don and Betty Barr, Koletta Steinmetz and Tom McGee.

   Verification of postings verified.

   Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve minutes of last meeting.

   Motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers to approve the financial report and payment of bills.

   Citizen discussion period.  Don Barr said a logging road on Bickel Road had caused the washing of dirt across the town road.  Barr asked about a booklet for new residents. Koletta Steinmetz stated that a resident was bringing in garbage from outside the town and also not recycling; chairman Steinmetz will talk with the family. Richard asked about obtaining a “blind driveway” sign for the Madden family on Plum Run. The chairman will take care of it.  Tom McGee asked what sealcoating will be done next year and was given a copy of the town’s long-range sealcoating plans.

   Informational reports:  The patrolmen helped out at Viola after the tornado, 60 tons of road salt to be delivered, Steve Peterson to pay for road sign damage, Jim Haugh had a broken window on the mowing tractor and will be turned in for insurance, sealcoating of Green Hollow Road is done, Thompson Road sealcoating redone and ok, Kickapoo Reserve billed $481.78 for grader work, Jeff Everson wants a condensed version of the zoning ordinance on the town’s web page, Brenda Kratzer and the Milonzcyk’s will handle the recycling facility while Koletta has a knee operation, Brad thanked all the volunteers who helped with the picnic.

   Old business: Reminder of fall cleanup on Oct 8th, reminder to the board of the pavement rating for September 28th.

   New business: Motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers to apply for a TRIP grant.

   Agreed to modify intersection of Maple Ridge Road and Slagle Road.

   No action on planning grant with La Farge, no info from engineering firm yet.

   Approved selling 1984, 4-wheel drive dump truck.  Will place ads in appropriate places.

   Updating of driveway ordinance will be placed on next month’s agenda.

   Budget for 2006 discussed. Special town meeting set for November 8th to consider raising levy. Budget hearing held same evening.

   Clerk instructed to contact county highway commissioner concerning replacement of box culvert on Weister Creek road on a motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard.

   Motion to adjourn by Jeffers, seconded by Richard.  Adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
