TOWN OF STARK, VERNON COUNTY, WI

WEDNESDAY, 19 October, 2005

Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:01 p.m.  All elected officials present and were Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard on the town board, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie Potter.

 

Guests present were David Wright, Steve Munson, and Rich and Lois Miloncyzk.

 

Verification of proper posting of meeting was confirmed.

 

Motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers to approve last month's minutes.

 

Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve financial report and payment of bills.

Informational reports: None

 

Old business:

a. TRIP application:  Stark has been chosen to receive approximately $26,300 for Maple

Ridge Road from Munson Road to Moore Road with work to be done in 2006.

b. Comprehensive Planning Grant - Stark will combine with Whitestown, La Farge, Kickapoo Reserve and HoChunk Nation in applying for grant. Marcy West will write grant proposal. Motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers to apply for grant with other agencies.  All yes.

c. Driveway ordinance - Add it to December meeting and place changes in zoning ordinance instead of creating a separate ordinance.

d. Box culvert replacement -clerk has not yet talked with county highway commissioner

 

New business:

a. Open bids for excess truck: Steve Munson, $4,551; Matt Trost, $1,679; and C & H Excavating, $3,006. Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to accept bid from Steve Munson. All yes.

 b. David Wright of Rural Mutual Insurance was in attendance to see if any problems with

 insurance through his firm.  None reported.

c. Purchasing new truck tires:  Jeffers asked by town chairman to handle the matter.

d. Lot rental: Board agreed to increase it to $900 a year from present $700 yearly rate.

e. Budget: Motion by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard to adopt proposed 2006 budget to include a 25 cent an hour increase for town employees.   All yes.

 

Motion by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard to adjourn.  Adjourned 8:35 p.m.
