TOWN OF STARK, VERNON COUNTY, WI

 

WEDNESDAY, 17 August 2005

Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:00 p.m. All elected officials present and were Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard on the town board, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie Potter.

 

 

 

Guests present were Virgil and Linda Thomas, Don and Betty Barr, Rich and Lois Milonczyk, and Tom McGee.

 

 

 

Verification of proper posting of meeting was confirmed.

 

 

 

Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve last month's minutes.

 

 

 

Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve financial report and payment of bills except the bill from Scott Construction for sealcoating on Thompson Road. The road is rough and the sales rep for Scott stated his firm would redo it when a crew was in the area. Clerk was also asked to see if a lock in price could be obtained from Hillsboro Co-op for propane.

 

 

 

Citizen discussion period: Don Barr stated that 12 acres across the road from him had been sold to a couple that plans on building a house on the property.

 

 

 

Informational reports:

 

a. Update given on roads sealcoated, Thompson Road needs redone.

 

b. Town picnic plans updated

 

c. Board apprised of two zoning permits, Michael Jeffers and Linda and William Kica.

 

d. New estimated population figures given out, now up to 369.

 

e. Equalization values reported by the clerk. Chairman Steinmetz reported that he had received an equalization report for the Kickapoo Reserve and it had increased 10%.

 

Clerk reported that recycling manager Koletta Steinmetz would be going in for knee replacement in October and would be laid up for awhile. Brenda Kratzer can help on Saturdays and the Milonczyks said they could help out on Wednesdays.

 

 

 

Old business:

 

a. Fall cleanup day will be October 8th, 1/2 price again.

 

b. Junked vehicle ordinance. No further work done on it.

 

 

 

New Business:

 

a. Set date for pavement rating: Wednesday, September 28th at 8 p.m.

 

 

 

Motion to adjourn by Jeffers, seconded by Richard. Adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
