Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:03
p.m. All elected officials present: Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard of the
town board, treasurer Bonnie Potter and clerk Lonnie Muller.
Guests present who signed in were: Gail Muller, Douglas Elmer,
Christel Stueckrad, Tom McGee, Virgil Thomas Jr., Linda Thomas, Rich
Milonczyk, Lois Milonczyk, Don Barr, Bruce Tosch, and Otis Williams.
Verification of proper posting of meeting was confirmed. Posting
at Stark town hall, La Farge State Bank, La Farge post office, and bulletin
board outside Bergum's Food Mart.
Motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard to approve last month's
minutes. All yes.
Motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers to approve financial report
and payment of bills. All yes.
Citizen discussion period: Annual town picnic was discussed.
Brats will be paid for from aluminum can fund. Myron will check on music.
Picnic tables will be checked out by Lonnie and Gail but town employees will
move them, coffee by Lonnie and Gail and Rich and Lois will chair the event.
Will be held Thursday, August 17th, open at 4 p.m. and eat at 6 p.m. Held at
town garage.
Linda Thomas wanted to know legality of dumping live trapped
raccoons on private property. Chairman suggested she contact sheriff's
department.
Otis Williams asked about rent on Corps building and could we
build cheaper. He also questioned spending $90,000 on roads.
Virgil Thomas Jr. wanted to know how to get more people moving
into Stark. Bruce Tosch said house values going down. Don Barr wanted to
know status of handout about town.
Informational reports: No status on new truck; completed hauling
screenings and none left at quarry; Managed forest land has been removed from
Senn Brown's property; NIMS training on August 3rd with Vernon Co. Emergency
Management.
New business:
a. No one yet appointed for alternate zoning board member, moved
to next month.
b. Will talk with Gordon Cunningham about dog counter position.
c. Discussion held but no action on non-property owners requesting
zoning changes.
Motion to adjourn by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard. All

p.m. Other elected officials present: Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard of
the town board, and clerk Lonnie Muller.
Guests present who signed in were: Gail Muller, Douglas Elmer,
Christel Stueckrad, Fritz Stueckrad, Tom McGee, Kay Mick, Lonnie Moore, Virgil
Thomas Jr., Linda Thomas, Rich Milonczyk, Lois Milonczyk, Donald Barr, Bruce
Tosch, and Otis Williams.

Citizen discussion period: Several residents presented
views on taxes, zoning, and zoning board appointments.
Informational reports: a preapplication request for a housing
block grant has been submitted to the state, unauthorized persons are using
recycling center, polling site requires a written emergency contingency plan
written up, and Scott Construction may begin sealcoating around July 1st.
Old business: None
New business:
a. Chairman Steinmetz recommended Jon Zahm be re-appointed to the
zoning committee. No action forthcoming. Motion by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard to
appoint Kay Mick to the zoning board. All yes. Chairman asked that minutes
reflect a list of 49 signatures presented to him urging Mick's appointment.
b. Motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers to approve Zoning Board
recommendation to grant a size variance on tax parcel 030-00693-0000 located on
Slayback Road.
Motion to adjourn by Jeffers, 2nd by Richard. All
yes. Adjourned 8:00 p.m.
