TOWN OF STARK, VERNON COUNTY, WI
WEDNESDAY, 18 April 2007

Meeting called to order by town chairman Brad Steinmetz at 7:02
p.m. All other elected officials present and they were Virgil Thomas and
Myron Richard of the town board, clerk Lonnie Muller and treasurer Bonnie
Potter.
Guests were Gail Muller, Lois and Rich Milonczyk, Christel
Stueckrad, Linda Thomas, Donald Barr and Cecil Chapin..
Verification of proper posting of meeting was confirmed.
Motion by Richard, seconded by Thomas to approve last month's
minutes. All yes.
Motion by Thomas, seconded by Richard to approve financial report
and payment of bills. All yes.
Citizen discussion period: Don Barr thanked for the creation
and building of the Flag base.
Pledge of Allegiance was given at this point. The new
building sign was shown around and thanks given to the Kickapoo Reserve people
who engraved it. Don Barr stated he would install the sign. Christel
Stueckrad stated there would be a square dance at the La Farge Community Center
on April 20th.
Informational reports: It was announced that incumbents Jack
Robinson and Susan Cushing had been appointed by the governor's office to the
Kickapoo Reserve Board. Also appointed was Gail Frie and Dave Maxwell's name
has been submitted for nomination. Chairman will contact present zoning
board members about being re-nominated. Board will be attending WTA meeting
in Viroqua. Road bans are off except on Plum Run and Weister Creek. Need a
new culvert on Indian Creek Road. Richard asked about extending road ban
to all roads but no action taken. Thomas stated he had taken a job out of
Indiana and was unsure if he could continue as a board member. Mathy will be
setting up asphalt plant in Burt quarry in June. The board will be at a
meeting in Richland Center on May 18th.
Old business: Comprehensive planning grant has been turned down by
the state but sounds good for getting Nuzum grant as that is being reviewed on
April 20th.
New business:
a. There had been an anonymous letter question about two write in
votes for clerk in the April election that was not reported in the
newspapers. Clerk stated he had simply forgotten to place that info in the
newspapers and apologized.
b. Annual road inspection will be held April 25th.
c. Open book will be May 17th and Board of Review May
31st. |Cecil Chapin reported on various assessment issues. He said town
was at 98.54% of state figures. Chapin reported on various issue with
assessing mobile homes and camping trailers. Chairman stated that all
mobile homes brought into the town must now be inspected by building inspector.
d. All board members and clerk will be attending Richland Center
WTA meeting.
e. Clerk will apply for housing block grant program.
Motion to adjourn by Thomas, 2nd by Richard. Adjourned at
7:55 p.m.
