TOWN OF STARK MINUTES

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

 

Meeting opened at 7 p.m. at the Stark town hall.  All board members present. They are chairman Brad Steinmetz and board members Dwain Jeffers and Myron Richard.  Clerk Lonnie Muller present and treasurer Bonnie Potter absent.  Guests were Virgil and Linda Thomas, Tom McGee and Arnie Hatfield.

 

Postings ok.

 

Approval of August minutes approved on a motion by Jeffers, seconded by Richard.  All yes.

 

Motion to approve financial report and payment of bills on motion by Richard, 2nd by Jeffers.  All yes.

 

Citizen discussion period:  Question came up when going to seal coat Jug Creek.  It was stated that E. Jug Creek was next year.

 

Informational reports: Nothing new from FEMA on road damage claims, all claims have been turned into the state.

Web page still being worked on by the clerk had Al Buss helping out in the past few days in attempt to better use the page.

Clerk mentioned that budget should be ready by next meeting.

Jeffers said grader needed new tires.  New mower may be needed.

 

Old business: 

Wayne Haugrud is drawing up contract with attorney Stittleburg regarding housing inspection.

KRMB has turned down idea of salt shed on Reserve and chairman worried about losing Corps building as a Stark garage.  Negotiations may be starting soon to renew lease on the building.

Scotts have finished sealcoating on Wolfe, Nelson and Haugh Road, clerk will turn bill into county highway department.

No word on salt yet.

 

New business:

A Discussion with employees regarding 2005 wages and benefits.  Hatfield would like to have same wages and benefits as Vernon Co. highway employees, which is $15.31 an hour. Would then like wages tied to county each year.  Will place request on October agenda. Hatfield also questioned lost vacation time.  Clerk will check previous minutes.

b. Decided not to have cleanup days this fall.

c. Clerk will set up meeting with Jeff Everson and zoning committee to upgrade zoning.

 

Myron will check price of mower.

 

Board moved into closed session at 8 p.m. with a motion by Richard, seconded by Jeffers to discuss employee wages and benefits.

 

Board came back out of session at 8:25 p.m. with a motion by Richard and seconded by Jeffers.  No motions made.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. by Jeffers, seconded by Richard.
